Delicious Mie Goreng at home sounds great, and with this recipe it’s achievable!
This recipe is great because not only is it super tasty, but it has veggies that the kids won’t even notice. It will quickly become a family favorite.
ingredients
noodles
- 3 packs of indomie noodles
- 250g fresh egg noodles, thin to medium
- 150g dried egg noodles, thin to medium
sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp, chili paste or Sriracha (adjust the spiciness to taste)
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce, or more soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
All Other Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 120g chicken breast, thigh or pork, sliced thinly into small bite-size pieces
- 100g prawns, raw, peeled, and deveined (smaller are better)
- 2 cups cabbage, finely sliced
- 1 cup beansprouts
- 3 spring onions, cut into 5cm lengths (using green and white part)
Method
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl and put aside.
- Then make the noodles as per the instructions on each packet put aside.
- Place both eggs in a bowl and whisk until combine.
- In a large non-stick pan add 1Tbsp of vegetable oil over medium heat add egg and swirl around the pan covering the whole base and cook until mostly set then flip to cook the other side.
- Once the egg is cooked remove from the pan onto a chopping board. Gently roll and slice around 2cm for each ribbon put aside.
- In the same pan on high heat add 1Tbsp of vegetable oil.
- Add garlic and stir until fragrant 30 about seconds.
- Add meat of choice and cook until it is nearly all-white.
- Add prawns and toss until chicken is almost fully cooked.
- Add cabbage and bean sprouts and toss for 1 minute.
- Add noodles, spring onions, and Sauce, toss until Sauce reduces and noodles caramelize a bit.
- Add the egg and toss then serve.
