Try adding some chilli flakes on top for some added bite!
Ingredients
- 150g bacon (cut into small squares)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 Tablespoon butter
- 2 Tablespoon flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup dutch smoked cheese, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Fry the bacon squares in a pan until lightly crisp, then set aside.
- In a separate saucepan over low heat, melt butter.
- Add in the flour and use a whisk to mix until smooth. Then add in the milk and whisk again until smooth.
- Bring the pot to a boil and then straight down to a simmer. Cook until the mixture has thickened.
- Stir in the bacon and cheese, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour into your preferred serving bowl and serve.
