Walnut Brownies

Have some walnuts in the cupboard or maybe just after something decadent?

This brownie recipe is a must for the recipe book! If you are not a fan of walnuts then change them out for any other nut you’d prefer or even give mini marshmallows a try!

Ingredients

  • 150g butter
  • 125g dark cooking chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • Icing sugar to dust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c and line a 20cm baking tray with baking paper.
  2. melt the butter and chocolate together either using the double boiler method or the microwave in short bursts of 30 seconds until the butter and chocolate are melted and mixed well. ( make sure you do not burn the chocolate.
  3. In a separate bowl whisk together the eggs, sugar and vanilla until just combined. Add the chocolate and butter mixture lightly whisk.
  4. Sift in the flour and cocoa and gently mix until just combined. Add-In the walnuts and fold into the mixture using a spatula.
  5. Pour mixture into the baking tray and bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes. (35 more fudgy 40 less fudgy)
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to fully cool (you can place them in the fridge for 15-20 minutes to help speed up the process)
  7. Gently remove from the baking tray and lightly dust with icing sugar and cut into squares. Serve up.
  8. Enjoy!
