Chocolate Lava Cakes For Two

Chocolaty goodness with a delicious molten center.

Making this for more than two? Just double the recipe few times. We have added some optional extras, but you can choose any flavour ice cream you like! Also, try adding some caramel sauce or orange zest to change it up!

Ingredients

  • 58 grams butter melted
  • 85 grams of dark cooking chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp castor sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp plain flour

Optional extras for serving

  • Extra plain flour for dusting
  • Vanilla icecream to serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200c fan forced
  2. Grease each ramekin with a little non-stick spray and a dusting of extra flour before adding the batter.
  3. Microwave the chocolate and butter for 30 seconds intervals, removing and stirring at each 30-second interval, until the chocolate and butter have melted. (be careful not to burn the mixture)
  4. Whisk the eggs and egg yolks together add salt and sugar and mix until yellow and slightly thicker.
  5. Mix in the chocolate and butter and then fold in the flour.
  6. Pour the mixture into the ramekins.
  7. Bake for 6-8 minutes (the less time the more goey)
  8. Remove from the oven and allow them to sit for 1 minute before flipping over and serving with a scoop of vanilla icecream.
  9. Enjoy!
